Model: Archer C7
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

This worked before, but now it magically doesn't.
I had bridged my WiFi to the the main router via WDS.
Then today I had to turn it off and unplug the router off because of a thunderstorm. When I plugged it back in and turned it on, it wont detect any 5Ghz networks at all. I have successfully bridged the 2.4Ghz network now though, but I still want to get the 5Ghz bridged again. I can clearly see the 5Ghz that I want to bridge on my laptop and my phone, and connect to it successfully. But when surveying with the Archer C7 it wont see any networks at all when surveying for 5Ghz network to bridge. I tried entering all the information manually (SSID, MAC-address etc.) and it still won't bridge at 5Ghz. What could be wrong here?

@Anoneemo

I do not use WDS so not sure what the exact cause may be.

If it were me, I would reset the router back to factory and re-setup it up as it was working before.

See https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/227/ for more info on WDS setup.

I make it a habit to power cycle the router anytime I make changes to it as I have seen some options do not take effect until a reset or power cycle. I also do backups prior to making any changes. You may have made some changes and nothing happened so you left them in place and when you powered it back up, they messed up your network.

To prevent power related issues, I use a good UPS with voltage regulation to protect my router and modem as I am not always there to unplug them when there is a storm.

@ArcherC8 I tried multiple times to reset the router. I got some help over at reddit and I got it working on OpenWRT instead. It's just weird that the TP-link stock firmware does not show any 5Ghz networks at all. When I scanned with OpenWRT I could immediatly see 4 networks including the one I wanted, so I got it covered that way. But thanks for replying. I am going to take a backup now as you mention it, just in case. Thanks!
