Cables can cause strange results. I would remove all the cables and power cycle everything. Connect one, power cycle, and test. Repeat adding one at a time as one bad cable could be causing an issue...

Not sure why thayt would happen. Different countries use different channels so I would try setting it to a specific channel instead of using auto for the 5GHz WIFI.

sign on the router, go to advance settings and then to the WIFI controls for each of your networks. 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. Should be settings for both channels and band width.

Check you guest network as many routers have scheduling on the guest network. Put your son on the guest network.
