• Associate your switch to your modem. 
• Associate the switch and the modem with an Ethernet link. Most switches come bundled with a short Ethernet link that you can use for this. 
• Associate the modem to the WAN/Internet Port on your switch. It is generally counterbalanced, and perhaps an alternate tone from the LAN Ports.
