Model: Archer AX50
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Just returned an AX3000 as who knew there was such a slight difference from the AX50 but homecare is definitely something I want.

So I setup the AX50 today and noticed there's no Speedtest on the main tether app page like other TPLink routers. I didn't take a screenshot but I could have sworn even the AX3000 had the Speedtest.

Do I have a dud AX50 and need to factory reset or does the AX50 not have support for Speedtest? Future firmware update??

Thanks!

Hi @Novak921,

The AX50 DID have a built-in Speedtest function in its early firmware versions, while it was still hidden from the web admin page. I discovered it just because I analyzed its firmware.

I once reached out to TP-Link support on this matter, and they responded that "when the router CPU is about to overload, mainly caused by HomeCare functions, the test result may be inaccurate".

And now, they have thoroughly removed the Speedtest function from AX50's firmware.
