COmCast assures me that I have 1gig speed. The fastest I can get is 256MBPS. I have new Cat 6 cables for tp-link to my Mac and a new t-p link ethernet splltter. The max speedmis the same on either 2.4 or 5.0 mhz

Test your speed from a current generation Tablet or Cell Phone. Desktop wired ethernet connected devices are very hobbled by their onboard Ethernet NICs. 256MBps on a desktop is very fast. If you have a current generation Cell or Tablet, I can assure you that the speed will be substancially higher.
Thanks @DAServices
My speeds are comparable on all devices. Trying to figure why they top out at ~250mbps when I'm paying for gigabyte speed. Just wondered if I'm missing some settings that would allow an increase in speed.
Have you used the "Speed Test" option inside the Deco App? I have found that to be the best determination of your true ISP speed. I have customers that have varying speed plans and all test usually near or above the stated plan speed. I have no one using GB Fiber, but here are some of my customers real world test numbers . | 25Mbps DSL - Tests @28.2Mbps down & 4.7Mbps up | 75Mbps DSL - Tests @ 74.3Mbps down & 7.8Mbps up | 400Mbps Cable - Tests @ 469Mbps down & 23.2Mbps up | 100Mbps DSL - - Tests @ 101Mbps down and 5.2Mbps up | 15Mbps WiFi P2P - Tests @13.2Mbps down & 2.6Mbps up
