Severely disappointed in product purchase (Deco M9 Plus)
I purchased these devices thinking that they would be a good deal for Tri-Band WiFi. What I didn't realize when purchasing for them though was that I was the actual product. You could have at least warned us on your packaging.
When I realized I had to download an app on my phone in order to even set them up, I knew I had made a mistake. When I had to agree to a privacy policy that basically agreed to have TP-Link be sent my network information, and that they may share that with third-parties, I knew I had made a mistake. When they required that I neable location services on my phone, I knew I had made a mistake.
I will never be able to recommend another TP-Link product again because of this. Whatever happened to the normal days of having a web interface that you configure your network from? A mobile app shouldn't be a necessity in configuring and setting up a wireless network in your home. Location services shouldn't be required. An online account isn't needed. Why is my online account password tied to my home network device? This is ridiculous. This is intentional. Maybe you're right that most people don't care or know better, but to the people that do care and know better, and there are a lot of us that do care—you underestimate us.
