C7 v2 setup on ethernet

I have a c7 that I just upgraded the firmware on. It's working fine but I was unable to do this via ethernet, has to connect via wireless. I am unable to connect to the router on ethernet, I can use a wired connection for anything but connecting to the router.
192.168.0.1 times out on a wired connection but instantly responds on 802.11
I've looked thru the manual and setup but can't find a reason for this behavior. Any ideas?
