All the newer speed grades 500, 600, 1000, 1200, 2000 are backward compatible with the 200 Mbit series. My personal recommendation is to go with AV1200, for TP-Link that's the 8000 series.

If you have disconnection issues, the FIRST thing to do is NOT use the default password. If any nearby neighbor does the same thing, you'll be getting random conflicts.

Try disabling "Wake on LAN" in the PC's ethernet device properties in Device Manager (if it's a Windows PC). You may have to dig around the "Advanced" tab to find it. I'm having similar symptoms here...

For the WLAN solutions it's really best to have all of them from the same vendor. Pure powerline adapters you can mix and match as you please ... however, a twin set of TP-Link 8010P is barely more...
