My plug blinks blue for awhile and then turns solid orange when first plugged in. It does not blink blue/orange. It's updated. Why?
The plug is probably indicating there is no network connection. Press and hold the button on the side for 15 seconds, which will reset it, and then place it back into configure mode (blue/amber). You will be able to set up the plug at that point.
