Is there some way to query the on/off status of smart plugs/switches using Alexa voice commands?

It does not seem like there is a way to do that in referencing the TP-Link skill or the FAQs.

Sounds like the skill can be updated to allow this functionality. I would really like to see this. I know smartthings devices can be queried for their status. If your app shows the status, that means that the device is sending it back.
