The red and white on the switch are travelers.

The whites under the wire nut in the box is the neutral.

Yeah I think I had it connected like that but found that the light was still on slightly even when the switch was off. I wonder if its the bulb?

Yup it was the bulb;the led bulb was an earlier generation; Bought a Philips led and works great.
