For 2.4GHz network, did you try channel width 40MHz and secure the network with WPA2-PSK, AES? How about signal strength for 2.4GHz Wi-Fi? By the way, what's the firmware version?

I don't think your setting is correct. Go to USB Settings---FTP Server to check FTP server configuration as the instruction given by Mavis. By the way, your USB driver can still be detected, right?
