I bought a couple of KC100 spot cams to track potential intruders to our house. As the recordings are only viewable via the app, I am finding it quite a circuitous task to save them to my computer. I download each relevant one to my iPad, then save to Dropbox. However I find that the time stamp disappears during this process. Is there any way to retain or view the time stamp and other metadata once the video is copied out of the app? This is obviously important for security purposes and when sending to police etc

Hi, the default file name of the video clip would show the exact time of the events, such as KC_kc100_02182021_1338.mov referred to February 18th,2021, 13:38 ;

As for the timestamp of the video, we would report to the senior engineers for further evaluation.

That may be while it is on your website, or in the app, but when I save it from there, the video recorded at 11:38 am on 17/2/2021 ends up with the filename "CFNetworkDownload_Mujaqf.tmp.MP4". I've tried opening the file in Irfanview to look at the metadata but all it tells me is

Filesize: 2.61 MB, Width: 1920 (org. 1920), Height: 875 (org. 1080), Bits per pixel: 24, Frames: Unknown (0.0 fps), and Length: 22.00 seconds. Nothing about original filename, time and date recorded etc.

 

Is there a better way to save the file from the website/app?

Thank you for your further information, it looks like the file names are different on different phones, I tried iPhone and got a similar file name.
