TP-LINK RE305 Extender keeps disconnecting from host wifi

My extender used to connect to my 5ghz wifi perfectly fine then about a few weeks ago it started to randomly disconnect and then reconnects to the 5ghz wifi. I don't understand what is doing this. I try rebooting it but it doesn't work.

Hello,
Please help me to confirm the following information, so that I can locate the issue quickly:
Please connect to the router's 5G, then check if you can get a stable connection from your router.
Please try to reset and reconfigure the range extender. Here is a FAQ you can refer to set up it by Tether app:
https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/faq/1373/
Did this issue only happen on 5G? Did the 2.4G of RE305 have a stable connection?
When the 5G drops the Internet connection, will the light of 5G turn-off or keep green?
How often did this issue happen?
Will the Internet recover itself or it needs you to reboot the router?
What is the distance between your router and RE305? Please try to move RE305 closer to the main router.
Please check the firmware version of the RE305:

May it help and have a nice day!

I have the same issue.
The issue happens only on 5G. The 2.4G of RE305 is stable.
When the 5G drops, the 5G light also turns off.
I am facing this issue very frequently (around every 15 mins or less).
It is recovering itself after 4-5 mins
The distance between the router and RE305 is around 20Ft.
The firmware is updated as well.

Good day,
Thank you very much for your time and patience.
Sorry for the delay.
May I know the model number of your home router?
How long have you had the RE305 and Did this issue start since you bought it?
Have you tried to move the RE305 a little bit closer to the home router temporally to see if the distance made a difference?
If possible, please try to change the wireless advanced setting on the home router, such as channel 36/48, channel width 40mhz for 5ghz?
Thanks a lot.

@Ansh_Kumar Hi I bought router from Amazon 2days back but seems it get disconnected after 30-40 mins. So I go this replaced but other one too has same issue. My host router is archer C20. On my mobile 5G and 2G signal is almost 100% where extender is located so dont think there should be connection issue. Does it has faulty hardward or software?
Once it get disconnected then unable to reconnect unless extender is restarted. Please can you assist here.

Good day,
Thanks a lot for your time and patience.
Did both 2.4ghz and 5ghz have the same unstable issue? Have you checked the Ethernet connection as well?
And when the internet dropped, would the 2.4ghz and 5ghz LED still lit up?
What did you do to recover the connection, reboot the RE305, or disconnect the Wi-Fi and reconnect?
Have you tried to change the wireless settings on the router before, such as channel and channel width:
https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2292/
Have you already updated the firmware to be the latest:
RE305(EU)_V3_200826

Model: RE305
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.1.3 Build 20200826 Rel. 66098
I have the same issue too.
My device would ramdomly disconnect from the extender and reconnect immediately. I noticed it only happened with 5ghz connection from extender to my device. I had tried to alter my router's channel and channel width, and nothing helps.
My current most optimum configuration is turning on High Speed Mode > Manual > Router-to-Extender in 5Ghz & Extender-to-Client in 2.4Ghz. Hope this could provide you some insight to fix the issue.
