This TP-Link KC200 camera has many deficiencies, which I will list here:

 

1- It does not have RTSP support to record and watch live from a PC.

2- Not having the RTSP option, you cannot store local video formats on a NAS or PC for example.

3- It does not have support to see multiple KC200 cameras at the same time.

4- It has a limit of 2 days of recording or 1GB (whichever occurs first) in the cloud. If you want more space you will have to pay.

5- You have no option to show and view the "time stamp" (date and time) of recording in the video.

6- You have no option to change the sound alarm for your own audio that you can customize.

 

Very simple options to add with a firmware update, that the TP-Link development and support people don't seem to care about the claims of their consumers.

We should ask TP-Link to support the RTSP protocol, which is very important, so each one has to record the video locally, either on a PC or NAS. All this support can be done by updating the firmware. The same as adding a menu to be able to add free cloud from other servers.

 

 

I await a response with a solution from TP-Link and those who represent it responding on behalf of the brand, and that they make the relevant updates that we as consumers demand.

However, we are sorry to say that there are currently not any plans to eventually add all of the features you requested, but we do agree that these would be great features to have.

Thank you for your  kind feedback, but just to clarify that Kasa cameras do not support RTSP and this feature has Not been advertised before.  So far it supports being watched via Kasa app or some authorized 3rd party devices, like Amazon Echo Show only. 

 

Thank you for your suggestion, our team has evaluated this feature before, from the latest news we regret to tell you there isn't a plan for kasa camera RTSP feature.Normally a suggestion will be considered according to many factors, like market need, the amount of similar feedback, technical feasibility and many other factors.

Your understanding is much appreciated. 

 

For customers who recently purchased Kasa cameras and requires the same feature, you may consider our Tapo cameras( Tapo app required) which supports RTSP , it is pretty different from Kasa camera and tapo uses a SD card (rather than limited free cloud storage) to store the videos:

I'm sorry to warn you that this is the forum TP-Link SOHO Community> Cloud Cameras Which is why the KC200 camera is correct here. Do not you read that there are other topics regarding the same camera in this section?

Why do you say there is no plan to add these improvements? What is the use if they do not take the claims and functionalities to improve the camera with a new firmware. Can you please explain this.

To be honest, we do receive these kinds of feedback from other customers and we forwarded to the developers for evaluation every time, but it is hard to get the ETA whether or when we will have them due to various reasons. What we can tell you is that you may wait and see if there will be the feature you requested in the future updates, but we cannot guarantee it will be added.

Send it to the developers that if they do not update and add the functionalities that we ask for as clients in the new firmware, they will run out of clients. In addition to the reviews we will note these deficiencies in the KC200 camera. Thanks!
