Hi,

Any help would be apprciated.

Bought this switch as WiFi was proving unreliable for home working. I have connect my Sky Q hub upto the switch using an ethernet cable, whne I then add another cable and run that to my desktop PC all works fine with normal speeds.

If I add a second cable and run that to a laptop I get no connection on the laptop and the desktop also looses internet connect with a no IP address error.

If I unplug the laptop, still nothing on the desktop PC until I switch the power off and on to the switch the desktop PC then connects to the internet again.

If I run the connection from the Sky Q hub direct to either the desktop or the laptop they both work fine.

Any suggestions ??

thank you

Paul

@Paul8078

Hi, for your issue, we would like to confirm the below information.

When the switch only connects desktop PC, it works fine.

When the switch connects one cable to desktop PC, the other cable connects to the Laptop PC, neither will work, right?

Please make sure only one Ethernet cable should connect the Switch and SKY Q hub.

The sky Q hub is a wireless router, right?

If so, please connect the desktop and laptop PC to the sky Q hub by two Ethernet cables at the same time to check if the two PCs work fine.

It is very necessary to do this step since the issue happens when the two PC connects the switch at the same time.

If the two PCs work fine, please follow the instruction to check the IP address, default gateway on the two PCs and send us to check. https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/838/

Then, connect the two PCs to the switch, send us the IP address etc.

If there is error, please send us to check.

Look forward to your reply.

Good day!
