Yours is TL-WN822N, V3? It seems that Windows 8.1 is not the supported operating system currently. You tried the driver for Windows 8?

Did you disabled DHCP on WR941? You can change its LAN IP to 192.168.1.2, so that you can access it. http://www.tp-link.com/en/article/?faqid=417

Umm...are you trying to place them in different locations? If not, I think a switch is better if you just need to connect more clients by cables.
