Try to change another wireless channel on your original router. Checked TP-LINK website and seems there is no newer firmware for V1 so far.

Since you need to download win8 driver from website, it seems that there is no win8 driver or utility in CD. There is no utility for win8 if we download driver from website. Never heard this!
