[Troubleshooting] Speed limit to 100 Mbps

This Article Applies to:
TP-Link Routers
Issue Description/Phenomenon:
Some customers may report the speed is limited to 100 Mbps when connected to the TP-Link router, while the speed is much faster and can reach up to 500+ or 900+ Mbps when connecting to the ISP modem directly. If this is what you are experiencing, follow this article to get it resolved.
Troubleshooting Suggestions:
1. Mark certain you are getting a gigabit router, which has gigabit WAN/LAN ports.
2. Login to the web GUI of the router, go to Basic > Network Map > click on the Icon for TP-Link router, slide down to the bottom of the page, you will see the Negotiation Speed of the Ethernet ports in Ethernet part. You can check this article to find more details: How we can check the negotiation speed of Ethernet ports on TP-Link Wireless Router?
3. If the Negotiation Speed is not 1000Mbps, go to Advanced > System Tool > System Parameters, choose 1000Mbps Full Duplex, save and reboot the router:
4. If it's still connected at 100 Mbps, try with another Cat5e/6 cable or change the port of your ISP device, where you're connecting the TP-Link router to (if possible).
5. If the Internet speed is negotiated correctly at 1000 Mbps, but the LAN gets stuck at 100 Mbps, it is also suggested to try with another Cat5e/6 cable between the router LAN and the client device, try with another client device if that is possible.
6. Try to reset the router to default factory following the FAQ.
7. Upgrade the router firmware to the latest. You can follow the guide: How to Upgrade the Firmware on the TP-Link Wi-Fi Routers?
If the speed still gets stuck at 100 Mbps after checking all the above, it is suggested to comment below, or email support@tp-link.com with the subject [Forum ID 270754] Speed limit to 100 Mbps. In either case, be sure to provide the following information:
1. What is the model of the TP-Link router?
2. Is the Internet negotiation speed normal on the router web GUI? Send us the screenshots about the Negotiation speed.
3. What is the device you are testing the LAN speed, what is the model of the adapter?

@Kevin_Z Had the same remarks of support. Tried it and no result on the AX11000. We tried everything. Also directly connected to the modem. All my cables are CAT6 copper. Problems occur after the firmware upgrade for OneMesh. You cannot go back to the previous version without OneMesh.
Strangely after a reboot when the first 5Ghz band kicks in my speeds are back to 400mbps+. But after a few minutes it drops to 30 even. The firmware is not good. My router is important for my home office and now I run into issues. The support engineer on the phone told me they probably are slow with the fix since it require a new firmware update.
The router worked perfectly before and now it is useless for me. Still on warranty I have sent it back. Good to let users test, but they should have the option to go back to the last stable perfered version. Poor support this is. I took my old c5400 from the shelf and that one is running on 400+ mbps.
Hope they repair it by completely flashing it to the pre onemesh situation or give me a new one without problems. For a router of more than 360 euro this is very very dissapointing.

Same trouble, after updating to OneMesh (and same on last firmware on AX11000) i get this problem, some times wan port in Auto negotiation drop to 100mb\s and hold it, if I put by hands 1000mb\s - it says port unplugged, AND if I put THIS CABLE on Lan1-Lan8 - IT's momently say - 1000mb\s. Only plug\unplug wan port many times help.
on firmwares BEFORE onemesh - never seen.
if such a problem exists only on wan, can you do that the port can be selected Lan1 for Internet?
AX11000
Firmware Version:
1.2.3 Build 20210719 rel.14861(4555)

We will still suggest you try with a different cable between the modem and the AX11000 first to confirm if that will help.
Can we know the model of the ISP modem, please? To locate this issue and try to fix it, we would like to follow up on your case via email. Please check your inbox and provide the information that we need.

ISP - MTS RUS, Ethernet port (1Gb\s) from ISP in apartments.
Connection type - Dynamic IP
Router - AX11000 EU v1.0
Wan port - auto negotiation
===
To remove the wan port from 100 mb / s - 3 reboots, with power off, un-plugging the cable 3-4 times. By defaults - router plugged by 8m cat 5e cable. I testing various cable, like 1m cat6, self-made path cord and supplied cable from router box (for shorts cables - I take router closer to ISP port).
If I plug all cables in Lan1 port at moment when "wan-bug" - always show 1gb\s connection.
This bug I have about 2-3 times after flashing to OneMesh and above. Before router working about 1 year without problems (reboot by Mondays every week by schedule).
IDK why it happened, found no dependency. Only one thing was changed - firmware.
If I connect WDR4300 in "bug-time" - his WAN port in 1gb\s state, re-plug to AX11000 - says 100mb\s
Because I won't 100mb on WAN - I always do procedure from above, but i think is not normal.
Speedtests from web-interface says:
when port on 100mb\s = 92.03 Mbps 93.05 Mbps
when normal 1gb\s = 776.19 Mbps 669.65 Mbps
