setting static IP on the extender does not mean your computer connected to it will get static IP. If the DHCP server is on on the extender, your computer will get IP dynamically from the extender. if it's off, will get from your router. You need static IP on your computer, you need to set it on the computer, set IP reservation/binding on your router.
