I did try to search the forums but couldnt really find an answer to my question. I have the TP-WA850RE which can be setup with either than same network ID so it acts like a booster or repeater OR it can be set up as extender by using a different network ID. I have been trying to understand which way I should go... wondering if there are any suggestions. I believe in either scenario I should expect reduced speed (about half) since the device is communicating in two directions but does either option present better performance? I realize by using a different name/ID I am somewhat creating WAP so I was leaning toward leaving it the same name and using it more to boost the wifi signal to a section of my property where the signal is weak. Would welcome any thoughts or pointing to discussions here on the forums with this topic. Thanks.
