We are looking at installing up to 6 powerline sockets in a large building.
Is this possible and if so, are there any problems that I may encounter.

The AV1200 series (including those foolishly renamed to AV1300) have the highest device count per network, over 200. You best use these. Mind that even one older AV500 adapter kicks this back to 8 - and so does the AV2000 series, also just 8.
