newbie with new routre

I have purchased a wireless dual band gigabit ADSL2+ Modem routre (archer D2). I have a sky broadband adsl connection. I want to set my new archer d7 up as a modem. I have retreived the username password from the sky r101 (black ) sky routre. I also have the option of using the sky routre in dmz mode, but i would prefer to use the tp link routre as a modem. Is there a step by step guide i can use that would help me achieve this? I am aware the sky discourages the use of equipment other than theirs , hence the retrivel of the username password. I know this can be done, i just need to know how. Thsnks in advance for replies.
