Sorry for my noobness. I bought the TP link n3600 dual band router today. I have setup both 2.4 ghz and 5 ghz like this > http://imgur.com/a/gy9Gb Weird thing is i cant find 5 ghz AP on my phones wireless settings (my phone is samsung s6 which supports dual band wifi). Only 2.4 Ghz ap comes up on wifi settings. Note that SSID for different channels are different. Also the router shows that both 2.4 and 5 are working > http://i.imgur.com/02JAEtf.jpg What am i doing wrong here ? Help me out. Thanks !!

Did you try channel widht auto and channel auto on 5GHz---Wireless Settings page?
Have you ever tried to connect the phone to any 5GHz Wi-Fi network?
