at beginning i had the same problems; this is what i did and so far it have work for me.

1. Open the installation disk as a folder ( DONT use the auto run)

2. In the foloder of driver , left click setup executable and in the compatibility tab check. to run as Windows 7 compatibility (remember to click apply and then accept)

3. Run the setup and complete the instalation

4. Once the installation is complete, go to the new TP-link utility folder in your system. (in my case was C> program file> tp-link> tp-link configuration utility)

5. An finally left click the TWCU application and set it to run as window 7 compatibility

i had the same problem, this is how i make it work

1. Open the installer CD as a folder (DONT use the autorun)

2. In the driver folder left ckilck the setup executable and in the compatibility Tab, check as to run with Windows 7 compatibility (remember to "APPLY" and then accept)

3. Run the Setup and complete the Installation.

4. Look in your System for the new TP-Link Utility folder ( in my case was C> Program File> TP-LINK> TP-link Configuration Utility

5. Set the TWCU application as to run with Windows 7 compatibility.

TL-WN851ND is old and it seems that it even doesn't support Windows 8 or 8.1.
Hard to say if there is any update for Windows 10 in future...

i agree with you !

I have had win10 freezes ever since I installed wi10 and this card. Freezes could be 1 a day or, the worst day, 9 times. Tried the 352 driver from Atheros.eu and that helped somewhat.
However this link will take you to the 355 64x driver that seems to have sorted it for me.

I downloaded and installed the Win 10 64-bit version 10.0.3.456 drivers for the TL-WN851ND but I'm still experiencing OS crashes. Sometimes the system hangs before it reaches the desktop. Sometimes it makes to the desktop but the system crashes soon after that.

I removed the card from the system and the crashes vanish.

I think I might have a bad card?

Any thing I'm doing wrong?
