Hi There

I have spent countless hours trawling the internet for an answer to my problem and have no answers, I am hoping someone on this forum can help me.

I purchased a new Archer D5 AC1200 yesterday and connected it to my computer (via ethernet) with ease, I also have my wireless devices connected with no problem.

When I connected my PS3 via ethernet it wont connect, the PS3 says that it cant obtain an IP address.

I had my PS3 connected to my last Billion modem/router with no problem at all. Is there some sort of setting with TP Link modem/routers that prevent PS3's from connecting automatically? I would have expected to plug and play like my last modem/router.

I have tried to manually enter IP address into the PS3, I have upgraded the firmware, changed ethernet cables, tried to connect wirelessly, nothing works.

I connected my laptop to the same ethernet cable and it accessed the internet fine so I am not sure what the problem is.

BTW - I mainly use the PS3 for media streaming from my PC.

Thanks in advance!!

Brett.

So strange...I suggest upgrading latest firmware, reset it to factory defaults and reconfigure it.

Hi Ada

You are spot on! I checked for modem firmware upgrade (which there is one), updated it and it now all works fine.

Champion! Thanks for your help, and I hope this thread helps anyone else with the same issue.
