Hello,

I have searched the forums previous to posting but I cannot find a direct answer to my question. I hope someone out there can help.

I am attempting to set up port forwarding on our router in order to set up an FTP server.

I've set a static IP for the computer I'd like to forward to and I've added the forward settings in the router admin but still no joy.

Can someone help point me in the right direction? I've included a screen shot of my forwarding settings (5900 is for screen sharing, 22 is for FTP and neither of them work).

I would also like to know if there's some sort of utility app I could use to test/diagnose this for the future.

Obviously, TL-WDR3600 is not your model...
How did you access the server locally and try to access it remotely?

You're right, my model is the TD-W8980 -- how embarrassing!

To check the FTP I use Fetch.

Locally I use sftp://192.168.1.102

Remotely I use sftp://88.247.135.100

Ross, can you try DMZ on W8980? Maybe something wrong with ports?

I've enabled the DMZ pointing my my computer's static IP. I tried connecting with fetch again and get a port refusal error "ssh: connect to host 88.247.135.100 port 22: Connection refused"

And yes, I hit 'save' :)

What's your firmware version? Upgrade the latest one, reset and reconfigure it.
Besides, is it possible to access the server in another way like web browser with http://LAN:port or http://WAN IP:port?

I listed my firmware version in my original post. I've downloaded the upgrade and will install shortly. I'll post here afterwards.

Isn't what you're asking about the LAN and WAN the same as using 192.168.1.102, my local IP?

Do you have this public IP address (88.247.135.100) on WAN port? I can't see because image resolution is too small.

Not sure why it becomes "face". lol
You know, sometimes, we can access a server via web broswer using http://LAN IP: port locally or http://WAN IP: port remotely instead of Fetch or something else.
By the way, I never know Ada means Island...Thank you for letting me know. :rolleyes:
