Canon MP780 showing offline on Mac, works with Windows, shared with WDR3600

I have a Canon MP780 connected to one of the USB ports on my WDR3600. It works fine with a Windows 7 laptop.
On my Macbook Pro running Mac OS 10.6.8, and Printer Controller 1.13.1025, I managed to print once, with a manual connection. Now the printer shows as offline and I have not been able to print again.
I would be grateful of any advice - thanks.
