Network Speeds not Adding Up
My network speeds are much much slower than anticipated and I cannot figure out why. I have tried the suggestions on the website, but even with everything I've tried my speeds are still significantly slower than I would anticipate after gathering diagnostic data.
In my home setup, I have a PA8010P V3.0 connected to the Downstairs main router / modem, a WPA8631P V3.0 Upstairs for Wifi, and a PA7017 V4.0 in the Back Room for the desktop computer. For reference, when I plug a computer directly into the main router / modem via Ethernet I have download speeds of about 450 Mbps; WiFi directly next to the main router / modem is about 340 Mbps. According to tpPLC app on my phone (see attached image), speeds between Back Room and Downstairs should be RX 244 Mbps and TX 426 Mbps; and the speeds Upstairs to Downstairs should be RX 315 Mbps and TX 322 Mbps.
My most serious concern is that when on the desktop computer in the Back Room, my download speeds are about 90 Mbps according to speedtest.net. Less concerning but still puzzling, the WiFi speeds Upstairs are only 150 Mbps.
Can anyone explain why the Back Room desktop download speed is so slow when the data rates over the power line are triple what I'm actually measuring? And any advice on how to improve it?
Thank you!
