Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.5.0 Build 20210414 Rel. 58075

Dear all,

I have a device that the app for it can't connect to. The app of the device says set your settings to 802.11bg. Is this possible for the deco tp-link M4 and ofcourse where should I change this? I have checked my modem and I can't change it there.

Many thanks in advance,

Bert

@BertWolff

Hi,

I suppose the APP trying to say, the device only supports 2.4ghz(802.11 b/g/n)?

May I know what device you have that failed to connect to Deco?

Here are some suggestions for you:

1. Turn off the fast roaming/beamforming.

2. Enable the guest network for 2.4ghz only.

3. Try to connect the device to the guest network.

Thank you very much.

@TP-Link

Hello!

Thank you for responding. The device is a robot vacuum cleaner. It won't connect to the app and gives 5 suggestions. 4 of them I understand and can change (like can't connect to 5gHz, so I switched to the 2.4 gHz). I now that the 802 is a protocol, I just can't find where to set it. i hoped you could help me with that.

Thanks for the guest netwerk tip. i will try that!

All the best,

Bert

@BertWolff

Hi, it is not available to change the Deco mode to 802.11bg mode on the Deco APP.

We can leave this suggestion alone and continue with others.

Did the guest network suggestion work or now and Did you turn off the fast roaming and beamforming?

In case later I might need to forward your case to the senior engineers, may I know the model number of the robot vacuum cleaner?

Thank you very much.
