Model: Deco X20
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.5.0 20210121 rel. 54794

I have two Deco X20 and borrowed M4R and M3W to test a third Deco with X20s.

Unfortunately there is a problem with roaming between WiFi 6 and WiFi 5 using Galaxy S21. When the phone connects to X20, it does not roam to M4 even if the WiFi signal is very weak, when I disable WiFi in the phone and it connects to M4, it is the opposite - roaming does not work to X20, the phone is connected all the time to M4.

This is not a Samsung fault because I have tested also X20s with M3W and roaming between them is perfect besides different WiFi standard. I have also tried to reset 3 times M4R and connect again, it did not help.

Is it anything I can do, or I need to buy another Deco?

@sakul88

For AP steering among different Deco nodes, only when the signal strength of the current AP (Deco) becomes lower than a threshold and the signal strength of another AP is good enough, Deco will recommend clients to roam via 802.11k/v standards.

For your case, it is a little bit different, Except for the Galaxy S21, did other devices behave the same?

@TP-Link

Devices without 802.11ax roam OK, I have also Samsung S21+ and Tab S7 - problem also exist, but those are similar devices. I will try on a Lenovo T14 (also 802.11ax) but I need to connect M4 again.

I understand that between 802.11ax and older standards roaming can be difficult, however with X20 and M3W it works flawlessly, so why shouldn't it with X20 and M4?
