Firmware Version:

Hello Community,

recently we got the TP-LINK AX3200 to be used in our office since the wifi signal here is bad - although we have other wifi routers but not within the office -  therefore, we tried to connect it directly from the AT&T fiber optics modem directly to the Tp-LInk device but for some reason, it did not work, however, I connected the tp-link device to the telephone device which is connected to LAN + Desktop, the tp-link wifi worked perfectly.

my question here is, why when trying to connect the TP-LINK device directly to the Modem it won't work?!! Is it because the internet line has a static IP? shoudn't the device detect automatically if there is a static or Dynamic IP's?

@Courtesy

The modem in the USA usually stores the MAC address of the first device it is connected to. If you need a new router to connect to the modem, power the modem off for 15 minutes. Wait for it to flash the stored MAC. Connect the new router to it. Set up the Internet connection type accordingly.

Good day to you no matter where you are.

@Yannie   Thank you Yannie for your reply, but now I have a different scenario since this is a business internet, the IP is static and not dynamic - which I thought in the first place when changed the information on the setup to the static IP, subnet,...etc, everything worked perfectly, but the system in general ( internet phone, ERP system in both branches stopped working?!!!

basically, what I did, I connected the router directly from the AT&T internet modem to the Tp-Link router. so my question is, why did it interrupt all other connections?!!

Not sure. Most of the time, you need to set up IPTV on the router to make the IP phone work.
