In the office I have a Virgin hub 3 running in modem mode connected to a Deco M5 main hub. I have a switch running from one Ethernet port on the M5 to connect PC's etc.A second M5 is in the lounge to boost the Wi-fi performance. This worked well most of the time but occasionally the speed would drop by 50% or more  (all lights solid green) and a reboot was needed to bring the performance back.

Today I happened to be in the office when the main M5 went to solid red for 30 seconds or so and then back to green. During the red period the internet was lost but recovered to full speed once the M5 went back to green. I have kept a close watch and this has happened a couple more times.

Has anyone seem this behavior?

@emj

Hi, have you tried to use the Virgin hub 3 as the modem router with Wi-Fi off, then put the Deco into access point mode to boost the Wi-Fi?

@TP-Link As I understand it the hub in modem mode (which it is) does not provide a wi-fi signal. As yet I haven't tried your suggestion -I guess that is the next thing to try.
