Installing X20-DSL to SKY
Installing X20-DSL to SKY

Hi, has anybody successfully replaced a Sky SR203 'Q' Modem Router with the X20-DSL? Is it possible. And if so how did you extract the ISP name and password. Using Wireshark but DHCP Option 61 message makes no sense. Thanks.

I recently purchased the X20-DSL to replace my UK Sky broadband router as the official 1.04 firmware was released a few days ago with the following comments: -
Modifications and Bug Fixes:
1.Newly supported Sky MER line in the UK.
I have attempted to switch the unit into DSL modem router mode but the quick setup fails whilst attempting to create VLAN 101 after choosing the Sky MER option. According to 3rd party articles referencing replacement routers for Sky ISP I was expecting a prompt for the user name and password for DHCP option 61 - but this is not the case.
Please can you provide an update on this issue and confirm whether DSL router mode is actually possible with the UK Sky MER service? My X20 is now running in access point mode but was purchased to consolidate the Sky modem router with my Deco mesh.

Hi, when you chose SKY(MER) ISP profile, there is no need to input VLAN ID, only username and password.
As for the username and password, did you get them from the service provider?
And there is also a link to help you find the password by yourself.

PS: if ISP confirms that you must have VLAN ID, the connection might be normal SKY DSL broadband, instead of SKY MER.
Thank you very much.

Thanks, I already have the user name and password. The issue is that the Deco app does not ask you to provide these details. I have taken step by step screenshots of the quick setup process below for both Sky ISP options: -

As you can see, there is no prompt for credentials - just the VLAN screen which fails.
