I have my Archer VR400 in "DSL Modem Router Mode" with Sky Broadband.  Works fine.  I do not want to use it as a router only.

I would ilke to use 3G/4G backup.

I connected the 3G modem and entered the APN details.   Shows as deteced successfully.

I noticed that the connection status is disconnected - now this is the same as what their instructions show, so I was wondering how it appears for others?

Should it only say connected when the primary internet connection goes down?

I have issues with my openreach line, whenever it rains it kills the internet, so I will wait to see if this works when the itnernet next goes down.

Anyone else use 3g backup and can confirm if their status shows this when the backup mode is not being used.
