Model: Archer AX1500
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.1.5 Build 20201230 Rel. 40465(5553)

My  main router is AX1500 v1.2 which it is support one mesh. I just got a RE505X, when I try to extend the wifi, it did not show up as onemesh for my AX1500. On my router, I've tried enable and disable smart connection but still no luck :(

I've already check both firmeware and they all up to date.

Can any one help me to set up the onemesh?

@whitesniper

Is the model number printed on the router bottom label Archer AX1500 or AX10? Archer AX10 had already supported Onemesh, as you can find here, while AX1500 still waiting for the new firmware, please check here (#5).

@Kevin_Z it said ax10 and ax1500.

model is archer ac10 (us). Archer AX10 v1.20 that is show as in the router page. i have try to follow the guide to join one mesh. but no luck. i also tried reset both router and extender but still cant make it work.

on my router do i need to configure something to enable the onemesh function?

this js what show up when i try to enable the onemesh

Edit:

I think I know why it is not working because it is not using the newest framwork. But however, I purchase this on Amazon Canada, the model is saying it is US model. From Canada TP-Link webside there is no update, but in US one does. So can I install the framework from the US website since it said it is US version on the box.

@whitesniper

Sure, you can install the latest Onemesh firmware on the AX10US v1.20. BTW, the Archer AX10 is the correct model number for your device:

FWIW, I have the firmware update, OneMesh can be turned on, but the older Archer A7 can't reach it and claims there is no other compatible device.

Operation Mode has to be normal, not access point, for OneMesh to even show up, which seems illogical to me.

Guess I'll wait for firmware 1.21.

Why do they have to assign two names to each router!??

@Davert

You can't build OneMesh network between two routers - OneMesh FAQ - Q10/A10.

@whitesniper Thanks... that's a bummer since you can set up the router as an access point, and the dedicated access points are kinda pricey if you want an ethernet backhaul.

Guess I'll keep all this till it stops getting security updates, then move to a "designed to be mesh" system.

(Update: I guess they're not pricey. Just confusing as to which ones can be used as an ethernet access point and which ones "convert a wired device to wireless.")

@Davert

If you''re after a mesh network with ethernet backhaul you can browse the Deco or Omada-SDN solutions.

Here you can see the difference between Deco mesh and OneMesh.

@terziyski Trying to figure out the Deco mesh systems gave me a headache due to the naming conventions... in two years I'll come back to it and spreadsheet it all out.
