Model: Deco P9
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.2 Build 20200918 Rel. 74476

I have Deco P9s connected in a star arrangement.  MY ISP in the UK is Virgin.

The main deco connects to a small 5 port switch (originally a TP-Link switch, later a new Netgear one - no difference at all) and the two backhauled P9s connect to the switch.  I have three Deco E4Rs (firmware: 1.4.3) connected by WIFI only.

It works great at first.  Then, a couple of times a day, connection speed will grind down to a halt.  The LEDs are still white.  The slowdown affects all units (the usual 300mbps goes down to 1 or 2 mbps).  If I simply pull the connection from the main deco to the switch and reinsert it, all is well (300mbps again) until the next time.

I have seen other posts suggesting that the backhaul functionality does not work correctly.  Is this a known issue, is there anything I can do to fix it, or should I give up?

Forgot to mention, I also have three Deco M3W units (Firmware 1.0.5) in the network, via WIFI - it's a big house.

All the units are up to date with the latest firmware.

I have also tried removing the router and one of the backhauls, and having a single, directly connected backhaul to just one of the P9 units, and the result is the same.

@DugC

Hi,

Did the Ethernet connection have the same issue or just the wireless network?

How often did it repeat within one day?

If possible, please turn off the 2.4ghz and leave the 5ghz only and check again whether the issue still here;

--if yes, please save the speed test result as well as some detailed information about this device:

(For Windows PC only)

  1. Press WIN+R on the keyboard, type in “cmd” and enter, you will see a small black window.
  2. In the small black window, type in “ipconfig /all” and press enter, the information of your network adapters will be printed.
  3. Please copy the whole content of this window while contacting us, this information would be more helpful when troubleshooting this issue.

Thank you very much.
