Model: Deco M9 Plus
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.5.0 Build 20201211 Rel. 42330

Hi,

Every 7 to 10 days internet is slow and/or unresponsive. When I reset the main deco M9 the problem goes away. Also I notice I get a flood of error messages in the log:

Every 10 seconds the following is logged:

Tue Mar  9 11:10:46 2021 user.err csrMeshGw[5703]:
CsrMeshMuxDemuxFindModelRes : Event : 0xef01, Response Event : 0xffff
Tue Mar  9 11:10:46 2021 user.err csrMeshGw[5703]: MSGQ :: CsrMeshAddMsgToTxQueue idx: 0x0, Msg Len: 30, Repeat: 2
Tue Mar  9 11:10:46 2021 user.err csrMeshGw[5703]: MSGQ :: CsrMeshGetMsgFromTxQueue curTxIndex : 0, tag count : 2, length : 30
Tue Mar  9 11:10:46 2021 user.err csrMeshGw[5703]: MSGQ :: CsrMeshGetMsgFromTxQueue curTxIndex : 0, tag count : 1, length : 30
Tue Mar  9 11:10:46 2021 user.err csrMeshGw[5703]:
CsrMeshMsgQRead: qId=0 errno=42, No message of desired type!!!!

This doesn't seem right.... And also rebooting every 7-10 days is also not what is expected.

How can this be fixed?

@vdws

Hi, Before using the Deco M9 Plus, did you have the same issue with the previous router, or if connecting the computer, would the speed get very stable?

May I know who is your internet service provider and what is the model number of the ISP modem?

Could you please provide me a picture of the network map of the Deco system?

By the way, did all the devices have the same issue?

Thank you very much and wait for your reply.

@TP-Link

Hi, no I had not such problems before.

My ISP is KPN (Netherlands) with an ExperiaBox as "modem". The deco's (3 of them) are running in AP mode as the ExperiaBox is the DHCP server.

All three Deco's show the flood of error messages in the log.

I would also like to add that this setup has worked for months (oct 2020 - jan 2021) and is causings issues since the beginning of February.

Experiencing the same/similar issue.

Setup:

Ziggo Technicolor TC7210.Z modem (250/25 subscription) (WiFi disabled on the modem)

Deco m9 connected to modem via UTP (cable that came with the deco)

2 Deco nodes upstairs connected wirelessly

regularly the internet cannot be accessed from devices connected to the deco, up to 5 times a day. Connecting via utp to the modem directly does allow internet connectivity. Gateway on the modem can be reached while this happens.   Restarting the deco usually restores connectivity.

also noticed on the paired deco that the wired connection sometimes downgrades to 100mbit from 1gbps. Fixed by plugging the cable into the other port on the deco.

extremely annoying during conference calls :)

Yes, annoying indeed! I have set up a home automation action that restarts the main deco every night 02:00 (cut power for 15 minutes) and that seems to create a "stable" connection during the day. I did not get any usable reply from TP-Link. I think they wait until the problem solves itself....

Update:

- Even with restarting the Deco's every night the Deco's still lock up around once a week.

- Support from TP-Link is close to zero.

- Note to myself: NEVER buy TP-Link stuff again.

@vdws

Sorry for the delay.

Recently, we have released a new firmware for Deco M9 plus v2:

https://static.tp-link.com/2021/202104/20210416/Deco_M9Plus_V2_1.5.3_210309.zip

could you please update this firmware and check whether it helped or not;

At the same time, may I know how the 3 Deco M9 plus are connected to each other, all via Ethernet backhaul or wireless backhaul like:

ISP KPN--ExperiaBox (DHCP router)---- main Deco M9 plus(AP mode)---<Wi-Fi>--- 2nd/ 3rd Deco units;

As for the internet is slow and unresponsive, would all the devices have the same issue?

During this time, how about the speed-test via the Deco APP?

Would you please send the whole log file on the web UI to my email---you could get it via private message;

By the way, how many clients would connect to Deco?

Thank you very much.
