Model: TL-WR841N
Hardware Version: V13
Firmware Version: latest

This router is still being sold in India both v13 and v14 versions are available. The same chipset (v840n v6.2) got updates recently with more stable firmware and better performance. My v13 sometimes has trouble resolving dns and performance drops after a few hours and is restored after a reboot. I only have 3-5 devices so this is likely a buggy firmware. Please update it given that it's not received one in 2 years although being sold everywhere.

Hello, can we confirm some details about the disconnect issue you encountered with the WR841N v13, then we can try to fix it?
1. What is the exact issue, is the wireless unstable or both the wireless and wired connections are having issues?
2. Are all wireless devices or both wired and wireless devices experiencing the same dropout or just some special or old clients? When they got disconnected, is the wireless network of the WR841N still broadcasting or the wireless network is no longer available on all other devices as well?
3. How often does this disconnect issue happen? It is suggested to reset it to the factory defaults and reconfigure it from scratch, leave all the settings by default and confirm again.
4. Is there any special activity that may cause the disconnect/drop out, such as high loading or downloading? How many devices are connected to the router at the same time? Try to disconnect some of them to verify if the connectivity is stable.

1. Wireless will freeze after 24-48 hours (5-6 wireless devices in the house , all N clients with regular activity throughout the day)

2. Wired devices will freeze as well (have one) and wired device can't log in to the webpage when it freezes. Reboot will bring it back to normal.

3. Have reflashed latest firmware set defaults and reflashed again. On some reboots this is not experienced as in sometimes it will work for days without issue. Have set bandwidth control to 50/40 (have a 50/50 fiber). I feel like some firmware bug is causing this. Also this hasn't received an update in over 2 years so I'm guessing all of its firmware packages are old by now which may have fixed several bugs.

Hello, thanks for getting back, while we currently don't have newer firmware for it, sorry about that.

When the router freeze, how about the LEDs in front of it, are they normal? It is suggested to leave all the settings by default, try to remove the bandwidth control settings for the clients, just build up the internet connection on it and security the wireless, then monitor again.

If there are some kind of high load or downloading causing the router freeze, try to deduce some clients and confirm again.
