Is it possible to pre-configure these without being in the house?
I want to buy them for a relative and configure them remotely so all they have to do is plug them in.
If I had their SSID / Password and IP range, can this be done?
Its not possible due to distance involved and they wouldn't be capable of installing / configuring themselves.

I think you can do that as long as you are both using Dynamic IP as the WAN connection type. You can install the Deco system in your own network and preconfigure all the settings, such as wireless network name and password, then your relative can just take the system back to their house and plug them in, and they will work.
While if the WAN connection types in both of your networks are different, he will still need to modify the WAN settings himself once taken the Deco back.
Another thing is the TP-Link account that linked to the Deco system, you may use your existing TP-Link account or just create his own account, we suggest you create an account for him, which will be more convenient for the management in the future.
