Hello,

 

I would like to use TP Link Archer Ac1200 in a Linux PC as Sniffer (monitor mode). Could you please advise best Linux OS along with driver details for the aforementioned product. Also mention gcc and kernel versions along with Driver path for Linux environment.

 

I see the below information in  "dmesg" after the module is inserted.

Thank you very much for your kind reply.

The chipset of Archer T9UH is RTL8814AU and the chipset itself supported monitor mode on Linux kernel 2.6.18 ~ 4.4.6.

We also have some other models which support monitor mode on mint and Ubuntu system:

Hi @Kathy_Z , The adapters you have mentioned can work only in G-band. Could you please provide the similar details for Tplink Dual band adapters. I'm looking for Dual band adapters for Sniffer which support DFS channels too. Thanks, Sudhakar

@Kathy_Z, Also I request you to provide another clarification: I have seen in the product manual that Kali linux supports TP-Link Archer T9UH. Can you please let me know if Monitor mode is supported in Kali Lunux with the mentioned adapter? Thanks Sudhakar

Thank you very much for your time and patience.

Sorry for the delay.

The chipset of the Archer T9UH supported monitor mode.

But we do not have the higher driver for Kali Linux, only  Linux kernel 2.6.18 ~ 4.4.6.

So If you want to use T9UH on the Kali Linux, you might need to find the suitable driver first.
