[Solution] Weak secuirty issue on the IOS system

Background:
Some of you may have updated your Apple devices to the latest iOS 14 version and get a “Weak Security” warning message when connecting to the Deco network.
Why Deco network is displayed as “Weak Security”?
Deco by default secured your wireless network with a mixed WPA/WPA2-AES/TKIP security, and the previous firmware was not allowed to manually configure the security mode. While iOS14 and some new operating systems consider other than the latest WPA3 and WPA2 AES to have security issues.
Solution:
1.The latest firmware version has allowed users to manually configure the security mode; Please make sure that you have updated Deco to the latest firmware;
2.Please ensure you are running the latest Deco app on your phone;
Then Launch your Deco app->MORE->Wi-Fi, tap the password box and you will be able to change the Security Type:
Note:
1.Sometimes Deco APP might fail to get the latest firmware upgrade notification, please also check on the local official website to ensure you have the latest firmware;
2. After changing the security mode to WPA2-PSK (AES) only, If some of your old IoT devices cannot connect to the Deco network anymore, you could change the security back to the mixed WPA2-PSK (AES)+WPA-PSK (TKIP) as your devices might not support the newer AES version.

I have the s20 5g and it says that I have wifi 6 in the top right corner but how come I can't get the WiFi 6 speeds close/near to 1.2gbps.
I get only 500-650mbps ish download and 374-400 mbps upload.
Also notice 5ghz isn't using or has 160mhz and the channels that it would provide.
Please add 40mhz channel width for 2.4ghz and 160mhz channel width (ax) for 5ghz with 50,114 channels, fix auto channel selection algorithm or add manual channel width and channel selection for both WiFi bands.
Lastly please fix WPA3 so it is backwards compatible with WPA2 devices as well.
These features in a firmware update would make this router even better and great. Please consider to do this, your mesh wifi system would be amazing then.

@TP-Link_Deco I have just updated manually via the updater tool and for my Deco M9 plus V2 firmware in app still says: 1.2.11 Build 20190626 55727
this seems not the latest firmware version, on the support page for Belgium this is mentioned to be the latest version.
When will the updated app and firmware be available so i can update the security to WPA2 or WPA3 as i am concerned about the message in my iPhone "weak security"
thanks

Hi,
I am from Belgium as well and I just updated today the firmware without any issues.
However, I didn't use the manual procedure and waited until the Deco app told me an update was available for download.
IOS 14.0.1
Deco 2.2.2
M9 Plus V2 firmware 1.4.3 Build 20200921
BTW, the firmware you have is pretty old and there has been an update this July, if I remember correctly.
I had to install it manually as the Deco app told me there was no update.
That update solved the problem of random disconnects I had
Cheers
Michel

@TP-Link_Deco How long is this supposed to take? It has been stuck on "Uploading..." for an hour.

@TP-Link_Deco I have 3 m4r units and 3 E4R, I was able to (by utilizing the web interface only) force the m4r connected via cable to update. Everything else is showing as the old firmware and now on the web interface, even though it shows my main unit as of the September update, it's saying the latest for my m4r main unit is July. This is a little crazy.
edit: finally got them all updated after spending an hour trying to force the update constantly. Took a lot of waiting and a lot of retrying. It never worked updating it through the app.

Hello, apologies for the late reply.
We have confirmed with our R&D that with the previous versions before 1.4.9 (including), the Antivirus page shows the time when you click on the "Tap to refresh" button, which doesn't mean the Antivirus database refresh every time you click on it, it will detect if there is an update on the database, if yes, then it will update the database, it not, it will stay use the old database.
