Model: Adapter  
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 2.2.3.32-00...

I was able to connect and pair the adapter and extender, but only a 2.4GHZ network is created, no 5.0GHZ network.  I've tried restting and doing again, but the same result. 

 

I still have a 5.0GHZ network to select from, but that is from my original modem/router, which is to weak a signal for much of my home. I've spent hours on TP-Link "chat" tech support, but they have not been helpful and there is no possibility of speaking to a tech via the phone. I'm very dissapointed with Tp-Link's product support!

 

Anyone know why I'm having this problem and how to resolve it?

There is some advice for you.

  1. Reset the TL-WPA8630KIT and make sure the 2.4ghz and 5ghz lights all lit up;
  2. Download the power-line utility and log into the web interface on TL-WPA8630:https://static.tp-link.com/2018/201809/20180904/PowerLineUtility_Win_180816.zip ;
  3. Go to wireless and change the wireless channel on the 5ghz, such as channel 40 and channel width 20mhz for 5ghz;

Thanks for the reply. I was able to resolve the problem and obtain a 5G network after paring the Adapter and Extender for the 5th time. I don't know it didn't work the four previous times for the 5G (but did work for the 2.4G). Never the less, it's now working with 5G.
