Model: Deco M4
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.10.5

Hi there. Ive done multiple speed test. with 1 node as router and also on both as access points. Wifi and hard wire tests

Set up is as follows: 100mb up and down fibre line

Router: 1bg tenda dual band ac1200

M4: 2 pack (1 set as router connected to tenda router, 1 set as access point in bedroom, Speeds are similar whether set as access or router)

see below tests:

Hard Wire direct to router

90.3 DL - 92.5 UL

Wifi direct to router near the router

49.2 DL - 72.1 UL

Wifi direct to router from bedroom (reason for purchasing the M4s)

34.1 DL - 12.8 UL

Wifi to Deco unit from bedroom

68.1 DL - 3.98 UL as access points 90.0 DL - 4 UL as main one on router setting

Hard Wire test on main deco unit

90.9 DL - 12.2 UL

Hard Wire test on second Deco unit in bedroom

90.4 DL - 9.84 UL

Therefor in summary i cannot get more than 15mb UL speeds from my bedroom on wifi or hard wired to the M4. Bedroom is 20ft or 6m from router

@Magga

Hello, thanks for asking.

As per your description, it seems that the upload speed is not good and no more than 15mb when your computer in the bedroom is connected to the tenda dual band ac1200 router, am I right?

If this is the case, I may need to clarify what is a mesh network. A mesh network is simply a set of devices that extends the range of the Wi-Fi signal. E.g. a part of the house may be too far away from the Wi-Fi source to send/receive the radio signals, then the mesh nodes just add extra Wi-Fi access points in a different place and they relay all the signals back to the main one.

The internet speed, however, is dependent on more than just your Wi-Fi. It is the connection to your ISP or internet source. As well as their connection through to whatever relay onto an internet backbone cable. The mesh network or booster will make your signal stronger, but will not necessarily make your connection faster.

Hope this makes sense but let me know if you have other opinions. Thanks.
