Model: Archer A9
Hardware Version: V6
Firmware Version: Archer A9(EU)_V6_200114

1. FIrst of all, does this router use the same firmware across regions? US/EU/RU? Because i have bought the EU version but the firmware it came with i only found it on RU website(Archer A9(RU)_V6_190522), then after some searching i saw that all US/EU/RU firmwares have the same name/size etc. So this means i can easily flash the US firmware Archer A9(US)_V6_200416 which is newer and not currently released in EU/RU ?

2. Ever since i upgraded from Archer A9(RU)_V6_190522 i see associated and disassociated in system logs for my wireless device and also maybe wireless signal strenght is reduced (5ghz). Now im not sure this didnt happen on 190522 because there were no logs from dhcp or any kind appearing on system logs, system logs only showed logs when booting the device, my guess is this newer firmware added logs for such events.

3. Besides associated and disassociated problems i also see cpu spikes to 99% every few seconds which the 190522 firmware didnt had, there were only spikes to like 50%.

4. How can i enable DFS channels on this router?

5. Bugs, when i reboot the router sometimes it shows other logs or they are of a different date.

6. If i ever want to downgrade, this can be done by simply manually flashing the firmware from within router menu?

@hehehe

Hello, we don't suggest customers upgrade the device firmware across regions and it will be against the warranty, you may kindly wait for the new firmware for your device on the local TP-Link official website of the purchase location for your TP-Link device. A wrong firmware upgrade may damage your router or cause the router to not function properly.

Generally, both band 2 (52-64) and band 3 (100-140) are DFS channels. With DFS channels selected on the router, it will need to do a scan with a local radar all the time. If the selected DFS channel is occupied it will renegotiate to an open and non-DFS channel automatically.

We can neither guarantee whether you can downgrade to the previous version or not, you may need to try it out yourself.

Good days.

@Solla-topee

But the firmware in this case seems to be identical, why would the router came with RU firmware when its an EU model?

So what about the dfs channels? can they be added to this model? and what about channels 149-161? why arent they in this model? i only have 36-48.

And what about associated and disassociated i see in the system logs?
