Hi, Deco does not support changing wireless channels yet.
For the detailed reason, please refer to this link: https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/154561?replyId=493338
As for The beta firmware, it is for Bangladesh users only since band 1(channel 36-48) for 5ghz is prohibited here and only band 4(channel 149-165) is allowed;
So if there are no specific issues, like slow speed or network instability, some IOT devices not able to connect, please do not worry about the current channels;
While if there is, please try to provide more details about your current problem and we will check whether it is channel-related and if there are any other suggestions to fix the current issue;
Thank you very much.

Hi, do all of your 5G devices are using band 4 channel?
5G band 1 channel: 36~48, band 4 channel: 149~165.
On the bottom of the Deco M4, please help to check what's the version of the Deco, US or EU?
What's the firmware version of your Deco M4?

Hello,
Currently, the Deco M4 5G only works on band 1 and it doesn't support band 4 channels. We will update you once we have a firmware supports band 4 later.
Please wait patiently. Thanks.

Hi, you need to describe your issue or inquiry in detail then we will see how to help you with it.
Currently, it's unable to change the channel on the Deco as it will select the best channel automatically to have good Wi-Fi performance. Changing the Wi-Fi channel on the Deco app has been forwarded to the developers and they are evaluate how to improve the channel algorithm, we will soon release new firmware in the near future and it is suggested to keep an eye on your Deco app or the official website.
Good days.

My Deco M9 always choose channel 44.
They don't seem to choose the best channels. They are using the MOST conjested channels and there is no way I can change it. Refer to the screenshots below.
Because of this the range is reduced and speed suffers. Please suggest a solution.

Generally, if you notice that your Deco Wi-Fi network is sharing a channel with several other networks, don’t worry. Crowded isn’t the same as busy, even though some channel scanning apps tell you one specific channel is busy, they don’t always measure other sources of congestion and interference. Non-Wi-Fi signals (like those from microwaves, Bluetooth devices, cordless phones, garage door openers, baby monitors, etc.) can all congest a channel but may not show up in a scan. So it’s possible that a channel can appear empty, while it is, in fact, saturated with other kinds of interference.
If your Deco Wi-Fi network is using a crowded channel but you aren’t experiencing slow speeds, don't worry. Your point is always scanning its environment to choose the channel that is most likely to give you the best Wi-Fi.
However, if your speed is affected a lot, you may refer to the below troubleshooting suggestions first to check and modify the basic settings on your network:
https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2429/
BTW, you may try to enable the 2.4G only for the guest network and enable 5G for the main to give it a go, then monitor the performance, which may be a good try.

Thanks for the reply. I being a techie understand what you mean by crowded and busy... While I agree with you on most of the points, I don't see the Deco scanning the environ ment and choosing the right channel. It always locks onto the same channels and I have even tested it in different locations with different frequencies of interference. I have an oscilloscope and frequency generator. I can confirm that the deco does NOT switch channels even when there is noise and interference of various amplitudes and frequency.
All we want is enable us to change channels on decos. Why is this such a big deal???
It's been ages since this request has been pending and its not rocket science. Just give us the flexibility to change channels. Even the most basic routers have this functionality.
Please do not reply with your standard answers like your engineers are working on it. We know they are NOT. this is really annoying and just let us know when will we get this option.
