Regular Ping/Lag Spikes on Deco M9

I'm having an issue of a perfectly regular ping spike when using the Deco M9.
The chart below shows a ping to the main Deco. You can see the perfectly regular ping spikes. This is just a local ping as you can see from the IPs, it has nothing to do with my internet connection, which is a stable 350mbs. So we can discount that.
Other points which may help diagnose:
- The speed I achieve is good. (from the laptop that created the screenshot below - which I imagine is connected to the satellite)
- Both Decos lights are green. And a distance of about 7m between the master and the only satellite.
- Latest Firmware
- Anti Virus is turned off and QOS isn't weighted at all, all I've done is set the conncetion speed via the speed test as without that there was some noticeable throttling.
- Have tried factory resetting and swapping the 2 Deco master around. Still same issue.
- Deco in Router mode
- Internet (Router in modem mode) --> Master Deco --> 5 port Netgear Switch with a few devices
This lag spike occurs every 50s or so, makes gaming impossible, and is a serious regression in performance over my non mesh network.
Please advise what might be the source, or if there's anyhting else I can do to diagnose.

@oller I'm having the same issues
Just sent an email to TP Link support, I'll copy paste it here since my experience might be useful to the community
The firmware of my unit is up to date, on version 1.5.1
The ping issue is present also when connecting my laptop via ethernet to the main deco, but it’s not there when connecting my laptop directly to my modem, so the issue is in the Deco.
The issue started from some weeks ago, when i updated the Deco from 1.5.0 to 1.5.1, the issue might be the update, but I’m not certain about it
The network map is in the following image. I can make some clarifications regarding it:
The main deco (called “estensione”) is connected to the “Sala Giochi” one wirelessly, most devices are then connected to the Sala Giochi one either trough Ethernet (there is a switch) or wirelessly.
The “Camera di Ale” is connected via ethernet backhaul to the “Sala giochi”.
The “Serra” is connected wirelessly to the main deco, but the thing that I find really strange (in the past it wasn’t like so) is that the “Study” Deco (that is an M5) is not connected to “Serra” that is the nearest one, but it’s connected to “Estensione”. In the past it wasn’t like this, “study” was connected to “serra”.
Here is also a screenshot of the ping spike test, ping spikes are variable, not Always like this, but still WTF
PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP it’s not acceptable to have such issues

Hi, I noticed the PC was connected to the 2.4ghz and could you please turn off the 2.4ghz and check whether 5ghz had the same issue?
--or if the PC supported Ethernet connection, please also check the ping result via Ethernet cable;
By the way, did all the devices have the ping spike issue or just this laptop?
Can I also have a picture of the network map on the web UI in case I might need to forward your case to the senior engineers;
Thank you very much.

@Jzlim Hi, how have you gotten on with this issue? I am currently facing the exact same issue with the M4's.

Hi,
Some users replied that turning off the fast roaming/beamforming as well Mesh Technology would help, have you tried that?
If still the same, could you please help me check the following information:
1. Did all your mobile devices have the ping spike or just particular devices?
2. Can I have some pictures of the ping test on the computer?
3. Can I have a picture of your network diagram from the ISP modem to satellite Deco units?
4. Did the ping spike only happen to the wireless connection, Ethernet connection worked fine?
Thank you.

@TP-Link I have bought two Deco M9 Plus units recently. I have seen the same problem while gaming and can confirm that disabling mesh technology, fast roaming and beam forming has helped. Disabling the technology that gives these devices their leverage leaves a bitter aftertaste though.
