Model: Archer VR900v
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

Hey all, first post so please be gentle.

I've had my Archer VR900 V1 for 3.5 years now and it has served me well. However the wi-fi is starting to become less than reliable and i have bought a new router and plan to use the 900 just as a modem. I've done some basic reading and it seems it's either easy or complicated depending on your router. I've tried to look here but found nothing relating to switching off the wi-fi etc and only using it to brdige to my new router

Can anyone link me toa walkthrough or a previous topic on this issue?

@TheDrownedApe If your only issue is with WiFi, that is, wired connections work well, then just setup the new router as wired access point. No need for bridge modes or setting up complex stuff.

That way you only have to set the same WiFi SSID name and password as the old one and disable the old WiFi. Most modern routers even come with a "access point mode" that makes things even easier.

However, VR900 looks like it has a nice WiFi system, how is it that it's not reliable? Maybe you just need to update the firmware to solve the issue.

@TheDrownedApe

Hello, the Archer VR900 works in bridge mode by default. If you want to use it as a pure modem, you can hard reset it by holding the reset button for 10s with the router powered on.

And you can log into the web UI to disable wifi function or hold the wifi button to disable it.

May it help.
