@Mags12  no I never managed to get it sorted at all. Tried another similar product and had the same issue. These things are supposed to be plug and play pretty much but they seem to require a degree in IT to get set up and the "help" was pretty much gobeldy gook without such knowledge. I gave up in the end.

@mustbnuts I've had the same problem.  Extended network password is completely different to the router password, it's also some ridiculous 50 digit password.....plug and play..yeah sure.  Before someone comes and says reset blabalbla do one.  I'll be posting a comprehensive review of this product and how misleading it is

@ciros Hello everyone,

If you met the similar problem please kindly try suggestions here:

Range extender should use the same password & wireless security as Main router after you set it up successfully, if you found RE and router does not use the wifi password:

Case1:  RE Led/ Wi-Fi LEDs are OFF on the range extender, and wireless client will not accept the password of router

Mostly likely that users have put in wrong password during the RE set up, please factory reset RE and reinstall it from the beginning, put in correct Wi-Fi password during set up
Reset:with RE powered on, use a pin to push the reset hole for 10 secs until most LEDs flash once

Case 2: RE Led/ Wi-Fi LEDs are ON the range extender, and wireless client will not accept the password of router

Download tp-link Tether app, double check Range extender's password on tether app and use that password to connect WiFi :

Note: If password changed to a random password (very long digit) ,that means router's wifi password changed in WPS process, please refer to this FAQ to troubleshoot:
