Hello friends, I have the same problem as you, yesterday my network diagram seemed to be correct in a cascade connection, however I presented many problems of slowness in the satellite decos so the TPLINK support told me to delete the network and change it name and create another, I did that and the problem continues and today the network diagram without any explanation is different. I really don't know what else to do but my satellite decos are very slow.

The DECOS are still in the same physical location as from when I bought and installed them.

I'm seriously thinking about buying a linksys velop

@TP-Link I am on firmware version 1.5.3 Build 20210203. Even on this firmware, the signal source is not selectable.

I tried running the suggested "Network Optimization", it did something for a minute, but nothing changed.

The 3rd Deco doesn't have signal source as 2nd Deco which is relatively closer than the 1st Deco.

3rd Deco still says signal source as 1st deco, and has weaker signal.

Could you please provide an alternative?

i have the same issue, my first floor deco is getting connected to the 3rd florr Main Deco that has the Internet connection instead of the 2nd floor deco

please advise.

@TP-Link It looks like this beta is version 1.5.1 from the file name. My M5 units are all 1.5.3 Build 20210203 Rel. 68223

I just wanted to check before I load this beta firmware as it looks like I'm going backwards a couple of versions? (1.5.3 to 1.5.1)

Or am I reading this wrong?

@TP-Link  not working this solution for me. still it is connecting to the far away main deco insted of connecting to closest device.

you should give us manual method to sellect the source. this is ruin the whole idea of mesh concept 

my main deco speed is 500 mbps

2 nd unit has almost 425 mbps

but 3 rd deco is having 42 mbps ( it connect to far away main deco too)
